In my classes you will experience a variety of classical asanas (postures) together with the more modern poses and sequences, pranayama (breath work), visualisations, meditation and relaxation.

They are open to all levels of experience mainly because I encourage students to listen to their own bodies, to be patient and non-judgemental so that they enjoy their own personal, individual practice. Although it is challenging, the emphasis is always on the gentle undoing of tension with  the breath and a sense of awareness, so there is never any struggling, pushing or pulling.

We explore the postures with a sense of ease to find our own individual internal qualities for releasing and realigning. Then guided by feeling, you will subtly develop physical strength and flexibility, a sense of lightness and vitality but also of roundedness and relaxation. When working with this attention and awareness together with the breath, every class becomes a mindful meditation. Once you have become aware of old, habitual and unconscious patterns of tension held within the body you can begin to undo and let go giving a sense of freedom in the body, in your breathing and your mind.

Each half term has a theme which we develop and explore together over the 6 weeks, for example the Chakras, Elements or the spine.
